Weather
November to February is the most comfortable. October to December is the northeast monsoon, with heavy rain on some days.
Temple days
Saturday is the busiest day at Thirunallar. Weekdays are calmer. Sani Peyarchi, about every two and a half years, brings the largest crowds, so check the date with the temple and book early.
Festivals
The Mangani festival at the Karaikal Ammaiyar temple falls in the Tamil month of Aani (June to July). The annual Kandoori festival at Nagore is the busiest time there.
The beach
Late afternoon to sunset is best at Karaikal Beach, about 15 minutes from the resort.
